Keychange at Cheltenham Jazz Festival

By BCMCR Alumni on July 8th, 2019

Keychange at Cheltenham Jazz Festival  is a ten-month AHRC funded research project run by Dr Sarah Raine (Creative Economy Engagement Fellow) in partnership with Cheltenham Jazz Festival.
Keychange

This research project aims to explore the experiences of women in active on the UK jazz scene and to provide a public report supporting Cheltenham’s Keychange pledge to achieve a 50:50 gender balance by 2022. This project emerges out of Dr Raine’s research and publication experience of gender issues within music scenes and takes an ethnographic approach to identifying and articulating gender politics within jazz.
