Mark Chapman

Postgraduate Researcher

I’m a PhD Candidate at BCU, working on the project A Very British Education: British Game Designers and the Influence of Schooling on Game Design. My background is in social research, with a MA in Social Research and BA (Hons) in Sociology. I am interested in the depictions of British culture and history in education and how these depictions are reflected in the creative work of videogame creation, and how these depictions juxtapose and overlap with personal interests and beliefs. Through this project, I hope to generate better understandings of the effects of education on understandings of history and politics, and how these can be depicted and recreated through videogames.
